Mostly because she could see the potential for comedy if a smart simian decided to turn them back on her. She was going to trust to her kinesis, as much as she could. A slippery, moving shield that trapped the monkeys and pushed them back to the zoo? Sounded a lot safer to her. She could be gentle.
