Welcome to the Voidtrecker. This is, for better or worse, a new world for all of us and we’re stuck here. In order to detect patterns in these abductions, get important safety information, and other important details for living in this community I’m conducting a survey. Please answer everything to the best of your ability. If you have any questions about the form please consult whoever is standing next to you other than me, because you should be intelligent enough to answer these very straight forward questions.

All information presented here will be kept strictly confidential and the purpose is to collect data.
Please fill it out and deliver it to me, Tony Stark. You'll most likely find me in my lab (aka, the quiet room that has a lock, a 'keep out' sign, and glass painted).

<I'm special,> [It's a good thing the default hawk expression is glare, because that's exactly what he's going for here, albeit a less vicious one than his hawk face is currently wearing.] <Depending on your definition, I used to be human. Then I got stuck as a hawk. Now I'm a hawk that can occasionally be human, among other things.>

[He takes a little half-step closer to Evie. Very smoothly.]

"Well, a way out might be nice," he said with a grin. "Failing that.... when I first got here, I asked a question, no one seemed to have an answer to, maybe you do. This currency they give us here when we do chores or whatever, can we pay other people with it? Could I actually provide a service, sell my skills, and then use that money to pay someone else to do the chores I can't?"

He's willing to work, he's willing to do his share. But there are some chores that he does not know how to do and has no interest in learning. Plus he missed having a staff.

[Evie didn't have to ask twice. At her offer, he handed over the pen and paper without hesitation. She.. also got an appreciative smile but you weren't supposed to see that.]

I see. How and why were you turned into a hawk? Although I suppose if you had to be turned into something a hawk isn't that bad.

[ Evie noticed the small half-step. And the appreciative smile. She will comment on neither and instead write down the answers Tobias gives. Glancing at Tobias a moment, she tilts her head in a small ‘come over here’ gesture. ]

You explained this to me when we were reading, but I’m afraid I’ll get the spelling wrong. Can you let me know if I’m good or not?

[Tobias steps closer, so that his feathers are just lightly pressing against her arm, and looks down at her work.] <That looks right.> [He has no idea. He hasn't had to spell anything in years. He can read just fine, but spelling? Good luck.]

<I turned myself into a hawk with alien tech. I just stayed too long and got stuck, but I'd rather be a hawk than a human any day. It's nice and quiet up in the mountains.> [He shuffles his wings a little bit.]

[He looks at the 'mannequin' with some surprise, but then tries to focus back on her eyes.]

Alright, I'll ask him but what can I do for you right now that will help? Anything?

"It would be nice if we could do that but no. Sadly a no to both. The only thing we can do is an IOU or barter system. I haven't discovered any way for the points to be transferable. If you provide a service, the payment would have to be something someone could buy or return as another service."

Tony is in a similar situation where he'd rather not do chores when he has better things to do and so many people here didn't. "For instance, if you go get me more coffee I'll end this interview."

"Laced or black?" he asked with a smirk. Oh come on, someone asked Khary for Coffee, and they weren't first thing in the morning grumpy. Of course he was going to have fun with it. Especially since he needed the chance to process what to do without marks. He had no problem working, of course, but there were tasks to which he was suited and those to which he was not. Could they introduce a paper economy?

[Tony eyed the two curiously. Was it just him or was Tobias really taken by Evie? For a bird, he had good taste at least.]

Right, since it's impossible for a human to go to the mountains.

Just about the time Tony had concluded Jak was a crazy person, he is morphing into a new entity with wings. Huh, that's new!

"When people in my world say there are multiple people in their head, we usually give them medication. Wonder what Freud would say about that. Did something happen to you to make you able to do that?"

[ after the dream event, Gyousou finds a spare copy of the questionnaire and fills it in himself, and finds Tony to hand it over. ]

This does not include those such as myself or the court, who upon entry to the Registry of Sages become immortal.

What was happening when you were taken from your time and woke up on the train platform? I was due to be executed as a pretender to the throne.

What is the most advanced technological device in your world? I believe the kingdom of En has made many advances, though I am not myself familiar.

What is a common piece of technology you use regularly? I cannot think of anything that would count as 'technology'.

Does your world use magic? Do you use magic? Is your magic based on a device/ talisman/ lineage/ race? Yes, frequently. I would prefer to explain in person rather than attempt to summarise here, however, as it appears from these questions that your world is very different to my own.

What items were in your rucksack upon waking? Specifically, did anything come with you from your home world? If so, what was it? A hardy plant recently introduced to my kingdom, potted.

Do you have any medical conditions or issues that are being treated by a doctor? I am recovering very well from seven years of malnutrition and muscle wastage, I am told.
Do you have any known allergies or special dietary needs? None.


Companions


Is there anyone from your world here? Were they here before/ after you got here or arrived at the same time? Taiki, the kirin of Tai and my minister, given name Kouri. We arrived at the same moment, from the same moment.


Skills


What special skills do you have, particularly fighting or military skills? I was a general before I was a king, so perhaps I might be of some assistance. I also have some knowledge of the taming of demon-beasts.
Are there any chores on the list you'd be willing to do if someone else finds their assigned chores particularly disdainful? Or can you be bribed to do both? If it is necessary for the community aboard the train, I will of course do my part.

"Surprise me," Tony joked back. He gave the young man an appreciative smile. They could probably use a few more positive-minded crackpots on the train.

No. I am fine as I am. There is a lot that I am not sure about. [She doesn't know if she can get sick or needs to eat but she's figuring it out as she goes.] But I'm discovering a little more each day.

He grinned and a pair of mugs appeared alongside a thermos. He poured them each out a boozy coffee. He was known around his friend group for the drinks he mixed. Him and Jaenelle. This was one of the better brews he'd made since arriving. He slid one across to Tony, using Craft to keep it from tipping or spilling, stopping it short just in the right place to be easily grabbed... but with the handle pointed the wrong way. He had a small amused smirk.

[She couldn't help but smile slightly. It was a sweet thought in her mind, so she clapped her hands together.]

I would love that, though if there is ever a chance to see stars, I think that would honestly be enough for me. They might not be the ones back home, but stars have always been beautiful to look at.

[But this idea is giving her some ideas for the future.]

[ Evie writes down the answers, briefly shooting Mr Stark a look that might say be nice before looking at Tobias. ]

The Isle didn't have mountains, but Auradon does. I'll have to visit them when I get home, because I've never been to them.

[ Recent missions aside, that is. ]

The last time I was on a mountain, it was for a train mission, and my team and I were escorting children to safety. I think a daytrip where something isn't trying to kill me would be amazing.

<The whole point of living on a mountain is so I don't have to deal with people.> [Specifically people like Tony.] <Ever. The only person I ever see is my mother.>

[He takes a little half-step closer to Evie, his wing now pressed gently to her arm.] <Anyway, I can still change into a human if I really need to, but doing it more than three times in an day is pushing my luck, and I'm not getting stuck with a human body again.> [As if that's somehow a worst case scenario. He leans his head up, using his beak to move a bit of Evie's hair back behind her ear, almost like he's apologizing for saying such mean things about humans.]

[Bird boy was making this weird again. He reached into a bag next to him and pulled out a small bottle of bourbon and added it to his coffee.]

Alright, so yay bird and mountains, and humans suck. Got it. So before you were a hawk, what was technology like? How does it compare to the train?

[He gestured to the automatic opening and shutting doors and such. He takes a long sip of his boozy coffee as he waits for an answer.]

[ Evie wasn't offended by the comment about people. Not everyone was a people person and a social butterfly like her. She also can't imagine hawks like people all that much, so when Tobias tucks her hair behind her ear, she smiles softly at him and leans very gently against his wing. Just a subtle shift in her weight. She wouldn't want to cause him any harm. ]

Maybe some day we'll get to see what human you looks like. But that's entirely up to you.

[ And she's ready to write down whatever Tobias answers with, looking from her bird friend to Mr Stark for a moment as she waits for an answer. ]

<Well... my bodies only age when I'm in them. So my human body's still thirteen, even though I'm at least eighteen.> [And he only knew that because his mother kept track and forced him to celebrate being an 'adult'. As if he hadn't been living on his own for five years already. He'd smile if he could when she leans into him, though.]

<Technology depends on the race. Playstation 2 came out a few years ago, but I haven't really been paying attention to what they've been doing with all the alien tech they've gotten their hands on. I stick to my mountain, but they've discovered Z-space, so long-distance space travel without relying on alien ships is practically around the corner.> [He watches Tony pour the alcohol. Looks at his face for a long moment.] <You name is Tony, right?> [He sounds extremely suspicious of... something.]

[Whether it was the coffee or the information, Tony was just starting to relax a bit more into learning about this strange new person on their train. He didn't really care if the.. Tobias wanted to be a bird or a human. The only reason he'd want to see what he looked like as a human was so he'd be able to recognize the fellow if it was ever an issue.

He nodded along, finding the information about the video games interesting.]

How did they get their hands on a bunch of alien tech?

[The question had him looking up and his eyebrows rose.]
