This was a matter that Will always felt quite conflicted about. He was allowed to have his own feelings and thoughts, of course. If he hadn't come here, he suspected that he would have gone back home to his human family and lived a quite human life, until he was needed again. He could have been happy for a time, he thought. Even if it seemed like it might be lonely to be the only person left who remembered the magic in the world.
But... there was always a part of himself that knew that ultimately nothing he thought or felt mattered against his duty. If the Light demanded something of him, he would answer. Because the purpose of an Old One was to serve.
