"If I were to enumerate all the points we would be here for years and you little the wiser. But the short version, since that is at least somewhat relevant, this train is, I rather suspect, a little like the city I have recently spent some time in, Doctor. Outside of time as we know it and at least somewhat sentient. It is the first that matters more, of course."
She crossed her arms. "Because it was outside of time I met first a face of yours that was never meant to know who I am, the face, if I am not mistaken, right before this one. I also met Rose Tyler. For a time thew three of us lived together in the fake Tardis that was created for you there. A previous face of yours showed up, and you were apparently jealous of yourself. You wanted it to be clear to all that the two of you were to be treated as separate people. You did not live together with the face that wore the leather jacket. And Rose was always a point of contention between the pair of you."
She frowned. "And then, at a party, Rose was delighted to tell someone, within my hearing, about her habit of leaving her home - and her boyfriends - for dangerous guys with guitars. And laughed about how if you had a face that could rock out she'd run away with him in an instant. As it happens, in your future, you do. Later that same night I became witness to a rather explosive argument when the face that was possessive over Rose found her snogging the one in the leather jacket. She not only said that she was willing to abandon the face she claimed to be in love with should your next face arrive, she then cheated on that version of you with a previous one. Knowing how that version felt. I then made it clear that in the future, you had a wife that was a much better match for you, one who could keep up with you in ways that Rose Tyler could not. One that would never run away on you. Rose did not like me telling your previous self about River." To be fair, though she no longer caed to be fair where Ten was concerned, Ten had not liked it either. "It became war from then on out. Unsurprisingly I did not live in the Tardis long after that. More of your faces came and went from that place. The Master was there for a time as well, as was the spirit of the Tardis herself. And River. The way that face of yours and Rose treated River was deplorable, and she happens to be one of the very few people in all of space and time that I could have almost liked. Rose spent much of her time after that dedicated to harassing me, while whining to the world that I was an overconfident bully. She turned the few people that I spoke with against me, or tried whenever she could. She vandalized the home that I made for myself. She tried to convince the whole of that world to disregard my choices in regards to my own name, Doctor. And should you fail to believe me, there is one other here who spent time on that world. I have already encountered him. His name is Link, pale, blond, pointed ears, wears green and is almost unerringly armed with a sword and rather nauseating amounts of optimism. He can verify much of what I have said about what Rose has done and attempted to do publicly, at least. And while he too disregards my choice as to what I wish to be called, he at least does it in his own unique way and does not pressure anyone else to do the same."
She raised her brows. "I could not care less what Rose Tyler claims her goals to be, I shall not work with her, and should you agree to work with me under my condition and break your word it shall be the last beach of trust between us, for trust will then be impossible. If you cannot meet my condition, tell me now and I shall resume cleaning up your messes independent of your attempts to leave them behind. And the mystery I represent shall never be answered to your satisfaction."
ROFL. Given the eyebrows of his she's more used to....
